Gjellerup, Karl Adolph
(2 jun. 1857, Roholte, Dinamarca–11 oct. 1919, Klotzsche, Alemania).

Poeta y novelista danés. Hijo de un clérigo, Gjellerup estudió teología, pero, luego bajo la influencia del darwinismo y las ideas de Georg Brandes, se volvió ateo, lo que proclamó en Un idealista (1878) y The Teutons' Apprentice [El aprendiz de los teutones] (1882). En sus últimos años se interesó en el budismo y otras religiones asiáticas, y escribió acerca de la reencarnación en El peregrino Kamanita (1906). En 1917 compartió el Premio Nobel de Literatura con Henrik Pontoppidan.
